 Hello again from Terrafugia!
spacer (1K)

For those of you that joined out mailing list since our last update in February, you can view previous newsletters online at www.terrafugia.com/news.html.

This newsletter is sent out periodically to share updates on our progress towards delivery of the Transition roadable aircraft and general company news.

If you have any questions about Terrafugia or the Transition, please feel free to send us an email at info@terrafugia.com.  We'd also like to invite you to take our online survey (accessible from the Terrafugia homepage), if you haven't already.  To the 1000+ of you that have filled out the survey – thank you!  Input from both pilots and non-pilots is appreciated.

To reserve your airframe number today, visit www.terrafugia.com/deposit.html or contact us at sales@terrafugia.com.

Thank you for your continued interest,

- The Terrafugia Team

Prototyping Facility Established near Boston, MA

spacer (1K)

With design office space, a composites lay-up area, and a shop/assembly floor, Terrafugia's rototype development facility will meet the needs of the company through certification and low-volume manufacturing.  Terrafugia's address is now 5 Cranes Court; Woburn, MA; 01801.

Remote Controlled Transition Soars!

spacer (1K)

A 1/5th scale remote controlled Transition model flew successfully at the Shirley, MA airport on May 22nd.  Comments from the pilot included praise for the vehicle's handling: "It was very responsive to control inputs and tracked very solidly through turns."  Other key findings from the flight included demonstration that the Transition's unique take-off and landing characteristics were controllable, even with the faster dynamics of a small vehicle.  The flight was another key piece in the aerodynamic development of the vehicle, adding to the body of knowledge gained previously from computer modeling and wind tunnel testing.  Footage and more information about the flight will be posted soon in a press release at www.terrafugia.com/news.html.  Terrafugia would like to thank Carl Engel and Adam Woodworth for their involvement in this project.

Get Ready for Oshkosh 2007!

spacer (1K)

Terrafugia will be back at Oshkosh this summer in the same location as last year: Booth 118 in the main aircraft display area. If you're going to be in the area, stop by! We'll have prototype hardware, the RC model and information on how you can reserve your very own Transistion. Last year was an incredible experience. Don't miss it!

Prototyping is On-Going

spacer (1K)

A prototype systems-level design review held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in March provided a forum for valuable feedback and design acceptance from a board of industry experts and leading aeronautical engineering designers and professors.  The full piece-part design and CAD model of the wing is now complete and has passed finite element analysis (FEA) testing.  Mechanical components are currently being machined and the composite wing skin panels are being produced.  The outer mold line of the vehicle has also been finalized and the composite molding and fabrication process is underway.  Detailed piece-part design and component integration for the rest of the vehicle is progressing on schedule.
