No one captures the dream of flying cars quite like Back to the Futures Marty and Doc. Terrafugias founders were no exception they found the idea of flying cars so exciting that they decided to turn that imagined future into reality. While the real 2015 hasnt turned out quite like the movie, Terrafugia is working every day to bring real flying cars that drive and fly to market. We have already built and flown two fully functional prototypes, and work is currently underway on a conforming prototype for production. So imagine how excited we were to sit down with the producers of the Back to the Future documentary Back in Time, set to air on October 21, 2015 the day Doc and Marty arrived in the future and discovered a world of hovercraft, self-tying shoelaces, and flying cars.
The documentary promises an exciting look at how todays reality measures up to the future of the film. In addition to original cast interviews, coverage of fan events, and movie props and locations, this ultimate tribute to the classic films includes a behind-the-scenes look at Terrafugia and the real flying cars were building today. Terrafugia CEO Carl Dietrich shares his perspective on the future of flying cars in an exclusive Back in Time interview, shedding light on how close weve come to the 2015 of the movies; the progress weve made, and the challenges still to come.
